I’m a creative director in the fashion industry ready to be VP of a style destination. My goal is to craft and carry out the brand vision of a company and see it through and keep it fresh while helping it grow.

I studied fashion design because I was always interested in the latest trends and how to wear them. But I was never interested in sewing. I was in class one day when someone mentioned fashion ADVERTISING. I changed my major to art direction and never looked back. That world became concrete for me when I interned for a creative agency with clients like Gucci, YSL and Oscar de la Renta – I loved it.

I later worked for a company that was growing fast and facing the challenge of building on that growth without compromising its brand vision. That’s where I learned how to trim the creative sails to stay on course.

The experience contributed to my own growth and made me want to pay it forward. Just after starting work for one of my former employers, there was talk of firing some of the creative staff. I said, “Give me three months.” It turned out they hadn’t been trained effectively and lacked inspiration. I threw myself into it and when the time was up, they kept their jobs and have since gone on to become rock stars.

I like to shake things up. It’s the best way to clear the cobwebs and rejuvenate the creative so the brand stays relevant. I get everyone on board with my “interventions” by making them fun and focusing on the future.

I’m a forward-thinking person. I want to bring that outlook to shaping a brand strong enough to maintain its integrity in an environment of steady creative evolution. Consumers crave what’s new and exciting. If you can deliver that consistently, you heighten the experience of your brand and foster an emotional connection that will keep your customers coming back.
